They're Here!

Our Nooks have arrived!

I am storing them in a cute dish rack!

We have been studying color words this month so I picked Hats Galore for our first story. The kids were so excited to listen to a story on a tablet. They especially loved the animation on each page. They were completely engaged throughout the story and begged to hear it again!

We will be demonstrating how to properly use the Nooks for the next few weeks. They can't wait to have their own Super Secret Code to enter the Footsteps2Brilliance app. I am hoping they will be ready to use the Nooks on their own within the next month.

We will be pairing stories on the app with lessons we are doing in the classroom so the kids get practice with letter sounds, sight words, and vocabulary development. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help my students access 21st Century technology while developing their reading skills. Here we go!

Getting Started!

We are a team of kindergarten teachers working with the Always Dream Foundation to help create lifelong learners using the Footsteps2Brilliance reading program. We will be accessing the program using Nook tablets donated by the Always Dream foundation. We are looking forward to the opportunity to provide our students with access to 21st Century learning technology while getting our students excited about reading. Please follow along with us!
